The City Council of Tías, governed by PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos, has recently deposited "a total of 74,756 euros to four groups" that carry out their community activity in the municipality through different projects of social, cultural and socio-health care.

This block of nominated subsidies includes the 'Lanzarote Association for Assistance in Multiple Sclerosis', which has received 30,000 euros, 'Volunteer Firefighters of Lanzarote Boluntis', which obtains 18,000 euros, the 'Association for Human Rights of the Canary Islands', which benefits from 14,756 euros, and the cultural association 'Titiritías', which receives 12,000 euros.

These subsidies, which are subject to the execution of defined projects and the provision of original invoices and the justification account of the expenses incurred, are added to the 63,000 euros deposited at the beginning of the month to another six associations: 'El Cribo, Asperger', 'Disabled of Lanzarote', 'Lánzate LGTBI', 'Spanish Association against Cancer' and 'Tinguafaya'.

José Juan Cruz, and the first deputy mayor and councilor for Social Welfare, Nicolás Saavedra, recall that the council "allocates around 400,000 euros each year from its social areas to the promotion of social and cultural care projects, all of this apart from the nominated subsidies to sports clubs and schools".

The groups and associations, which serve both people in vulnerable situations and groups that energize the elderly and young people, are connected and work in coordination in a community strategy network called 'Conecta Tías', which brings together more than 30 entities from different disciplines.

José Juan Cruz and Nicolás Saavedra confirm "the commitment of the Tías City Council to community work through individualized, family and group care to different sectors of society". In addition, they emphasize "the importance of the social section in their annual policies, which respond to the needs of a diverse population and help to shape models of coexistence capable of overcoming existing deficiencies".
