The Arrecife City Council has awarded, through an open procedure, the company Fuerteventura Producciones y Promociones, S.L., the organization of the Three Kings Parade for Christmas 2021 and 2022.

According to the City Council, the contract has an estimated value of 140,600 euros, at a rate of 70,300 euros of bidding budget for each fiscal year, as stated in the Public Sector Procurement Platform last Friday, November 19.

Arrecife adds that the awarded company "provides the organization of this event, at no additional cost, with an additional float adapted for use by people with reduced capacity, a second parade and an extra 1,000 kilos of candies to distribute on the day of the Parade."

The City Council recalls that the Three Kings Parade, like the main Christmas events, had to be suspended following the measures of the Covid-19 protocol, despite the fact that the Three Kings "did visit the neighborhoods of Arrecife in a convertible car to bring the magic of these holidays to the children."

The Arrecide City Council has pointed out that the awarding of this contract for the organization of the Parade has also taken into account "as an aspect to be valued by the awarded company, the presentation of a technical report for an alternative parade".

The Parade of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, who will come on camels and accompanied by their pages, will be held on January 5, 2022, "will depart from the fairgrounds and travel along the Avenida Marítima to the Castillo de San Gabriel, where the route will conclude as it did in 2019, ending the day before the Epiphany with a fireworks display."

With the awarding of the organization, realization and execution of the Three Kings Parade on January 5, 2022, the Arrecife City Council "has already finalized the main events planned for the Christmas holidays that this year, if the data on the evolution of Covid-19 allow it, will once again resemble pre-pandemic Christmases."
