The Cabildo of Lanzarote will screen the film 'The Florida Project' this Thursday, April 28, as part of the 'Siembra. Cinema for young people', an initiative of the Youth area of the first island corporation in collaboration with the Tenique Cultural Association.
The screening will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Multicines Atlántida in Arrecife and, after the screening, there will be a debate on the theme of the film in which the +Familia Association will participate.
"This is the last screening of the first cycle of this initiative aimed at young people under 35, which is expected to be re-edited in the coming months with new films and debates," announced the Minister of Youth of the Cabildo, Myriam Barros.
As Barros recalls, 'Siembra. Cinema for young people' raises "current issues such as mental health, education, equality, sexuality or the environment through films, holding a colloquium with attendees after each screening".
In this regard, the Cabildo points out that since its launch in September last year "eight films of various themes have been screened and more than a dozen associations have been given a voice in subsequent debates."
As for 'The Florida Project', it tells the story of Moone, a 6-year-old girl who lives with her mother in a room on the outskirts of Disneyland. The film contrasts the harsh reality of a teenage mother and her immigrant neighbors with that of the amusement park
Tickets to attend this screening are free, with priority for those under 35, upon registration through this link.
