The Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society, SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, of the Island Council, in collaboration with the EBF Consulting consultancy, has designed a specific strategy "that seeks to position Lanzarote as a differentiated destination, in order to attract national and international companies to the island that are committed to teleworking among their managers and employees." From the Corporation they point out that it has been carried out "as part of the incorporation of a new model of work culture that is increasingly widespread among corporations worldwide."

In achieving this objective, Turismo Lanzarote foresees a first phase consisting of "the creation of a pilot project to be developed on the island in which a group of foreign companies interested will participate". To this end, the island's promotion body has scheduled "two webinars to present this initiative", initially aimed at "British companies, in order to also analyze what are the requirements, needs and services that corporations demand from our destination."

"The tremendous potential that Lanzarote has for national and international companies to find an excellent opportunity here to promote teleworking among their employees and managers and open up new business horizons", says the Tourism Promotion Councilor, Ángel Vázquez.

"The objective is to awaken interest among companies that promote remote work as part of a new corporate culture that is increasingly implemented, in a place of great quality of life such as Lanzarote, promote the organization of team building in environments different from the usual ones and/or value the possibility of establishing subsidiaries of their businesses outside the places where their registered office is located," adds Vázquez.

From the Cabildo of Lanzarote they point out that the first of these work tables was held on Thursday telematically "with the participation of 11 companies belonging to the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain". During the meeting, representatives of Turismo Lanzarote and EBF Consulting showed the participating corporations "the qualities that the island has, such as its climatic benevolence throughout the year, its varied gastronomic offer, leisure and for sports; its wide air connectivity with the United Kingdom; the conditions in terms of telecommunications, as well as the CACTs and the special attributes that the island possesses, among other characteristics."

Likewise, the Corporation adds that in the webinar "the tax advantages of establishing oneself in Lanzarote related to the low tax rates of the IGIC and the Corporation Tax for ZEC entities were highlighted, as well as other tax incentives offered by the REF for certain sectors."

Within this first phase, next week "a second working table is scheduled to be held with the participation of 30 companies from the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Manchester, the most important in the United Kingdom", they detail from the Island Council.

Finally, the Cabildo of Lanzarote highlights that EBF Consulting "is a consultancy that has more than 20 years of experience in Lanzarote offering advice mainly to British companies that maintain a close business relationship with the island."
