The Cabildo of Lanzarote is drafting a "macro-document" to expand the staff and "improve the working conditions" of the workers of the roadside cleaning service. This was reported by the agency in a statement.
The Vice President and Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, conveyed this information to the workers in a meeting he held recently, which was also attended by technicians from the area and union representatives.
“Since we came to the Government in June, we made it a top priority to improve the roadside service, because it is currently in a deficient situation and with few material and human resources”, said the councilor, Jacobo Medina.
Medina took the opportunity to congratulate the workers for the great work they are doing despite the conditions they are in, which has meant that “the roads are becoming more and more decent and recovering their scenic beauty”. “We apologize to the citizens for the delay, but the improvement of the island's roads will soon be noticeable”, added the councilor.
In this sense, the councilor recalls that a shock plan was launched last July to try to improve the roadsides of the islands. This project began in the municipality of Yaiza, and will be transferred to all points of the Island.
