The Cabildo of Lanzarote continues with the agenda of meetings with the different Town Halls of the island. This Thursday, Oswaldo Betancort, together with Jacobo Medina, visited the Town Hall of Haría.

In the meeting held in the plenary hall of the centenary consistory, the mayor of the municipality, Alfredo Villalba, was present, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Chaxiraxi Niz, and other political representatives of the Haría Town Hall and the first Corporation.

Among the topics discussed, the problem that the municipality suffers with the water supply was raised. In this regard, the president conveyed to the mayor the Cabildo's commitment, through the Water Consortium, to "bring water to each of the points of the island territory thanks to an action plan that will be announced in the coming days."

"We have talked about infrastructure, we have talked about modernization, about connectivity problems at the Órzola dock, and also about social demands, and for all this they will have the Cabildo to continue building a municipality with a better quality of life," added Betancort.

In addition, the "situation of the historical heritage of the municipality" and the need for it to be "protected and rehabilitated" was analyzed, as well as "working to turn the municipality's crafts sector into an international benchmark," as Alfredo Villalba recalled.

In addition, Jacobo Medina assured that the "municipal cooperation plans will be improved and that an open line of FDCAN funds will be maintained to respond to infrastructure demands."

In short, "we continue to take good note of the list of demands of each town hall to create an island model based on municipal policies," concluded Oswaldo Betancort.
