The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Inclusive Employment Area led by Ascensión Toledo, has approved in the last Governing Council the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Inserta Empleo Association, linked to the ONCE Foundation, whose formalization will take place in May with the presence of representatives from both entities, consolidating a key initiative for the labor inclusion of people with disabilities in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
This agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to develop strategies that promote the labor and social integration of people with disabilities, strengthening their employability through advice, specific training, and awareness actions aimed at society and the business community.
Through this agreement, the Sustainable Development Goals will be promoted in areas such as education and training, employment, gender equality, reduction of inequalities, and digitization adapted to the needs of people with disabilities and the various entities on the island.
Ascensión Toledo has pointed out "the importance of this agreement as an opportunity to generate inclusive employment in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, guaranteeing the elimination of barriers and promoting an accessible and equitable work environment for all people".
“Both parties will work together in the creation of programs for recruitment, guidance, and labor insertion that facilitate the access of people with disabilities to quality jobs, the implementation of campaigns aimed at citizens, companies, and institutions to make disability and the labor potential of this group visible, and the dissemination of initiatives promoted by the Cabildo and Inserta Empleo so that people with disabilities on the island can benefit from them”, Toledo pointed out.
The agreement also contemplates the design and execution of training actions that improve employability, coordination with the local associative fabric to channel support services, participation in fairs, conferences, and seminars that promote labor inclusion, and the development of specific programs for young people with disabilities, promoting their incorporation into the labor market and raising awareness among companies about their skills and talent.
