Storm Therese continues leaving damage in different points of Lanzarote's coast, and on this occasion the images sent by a reader of La Voz de Lanzarote focus on the area of Playa de La Barrilla (Playa Chica), in Puerto del Carmen, where the strong swell has again hit with intensity during the afternoon of this Saturday.

As can be seen in the photographs, the sea came to invade a large part of Playa Chica, which was practically flooded coinciding with high tide. The force of the waves not only affected the sand, but also the nearby infrastructures.

Specifically, in the vicinity of the Playa Chica parking lot, the protection wall has suffered significant damage, being partially destroyed after the continuous impact of the waves.

The images also reflect risk situations, with the presence of some tourist too close to the shore, despite the adverse sea conditions.

It should be remembered that the island is under yellow alert for coastal phenomena, as well as for wind and rain, in addition to being on pre-alert for pluvial and coastal floods. The authorities insist on the need to exercise extreme caution and avoid approaching the coast while this meteorological episode persists.
