The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Transportation area, directed by Nerea Santana, has decided to increase, starting this Wednesday, the volume of the basic offer of the public intercity passenger transport service to practically 70%.
Thus, once phase III of the transition plan to the new normality due to the coronavirus pandemic has been overcome, the Cabildo, together with the concessionaire of the service, Arrecife Bus, has adjusted the offer of the bus service on the island to the current demand. Thus, the lines, schedules, both on weekdays and holidays, and frequencies have been increased, so that public transport reaches all municipalities and better adapts to the needs of users.
The Minister of Transportation, Nerea Santana, recalls that "the use of masks continues to be mandatory and that we must take extreme security measures, both at bus stops and inside them, respecting the distance."
"Every day, the intercity buses", adds Santana, "are disinfected to guarantee the safety of travelers and stop possible infections that could occur from coronavirus. Our goal is to maintain a completely safe public transport service."
Likewise, users are recommended to make the payment with the vouchers, although payment in cash is also allowed.
