Last Thursday, the Cabildo de Lanzarote received a visit from a group of students from the Erasmus+ program from Germany and also students from the Santa María de los Volcanes School. Both groups were accompanied by the vice president of the highest island body, Marcos Bergaz, and the Minister of Culture, Alberto Aguiar.
On the occasion of the visit, what will be the future Interpretation Room of Physical Sciences, Blas Cabrera y Felipe, was presented in homage to the father of modern physics, in homage to the figure from Lanzarote.
The event was also attended by Silvano Corujo, who gave a didactic talk to the students about the figure of Blas Cabrera, one of the "most outstanding" Spanish scientists, according to a statement from the Cabildo.
The future interpretation room will seek to bring the figure of Cabrera closer to the public and highlight his scientific and cultural legacy.
Alberto Aguiar, highlighted "the importance of this type of initiatives that bring science and culture closer to young people, fostering their interest and curiosity for knowledge." He also thanked the German students for their presence and the enriching cultural exchange that takes place in this type of program.
