The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has recalled that the first island institution continues to provide the accreditation services necessary to have an electronic signature
Corujo explained that obtaining the electronic certificate requires, in the verification phase of the applicant's identity, to travel in person to a registering office that, after accrediting the identity of the person through the DNI, allows the certificate to be downloaded from the issuing body, the National Mint and Stamp Factory, to the user's computer.
This work of accrediting the identity of the applicant has been provided by different public bodies, such as the Delegation of the Tax Agency, dependencies of the Social Security or the Ministry of Education, among others, which have remained closed to the public since the beginning of the State of Emergency. Thus, at this time, the Cabildo is the only administration that provides this indispensable service.
To guarantee the safety of both the applicants and the Cabildo staff, the accreditation is carried out through a screen that prevents physical contact and the applicants access the registration area one by one to carry out the procedure.
Using this service requires having requested an appointment through the telephone and the citizen receives an email from the Cabildo, with the details of their appointment, which can be used as proof in police controls to justify the need for the trip.
More than 60 citizens have used the service this week
The electronic certificate allows access to the Canarian Health Service and download the electronic prescription without having to go to the health center. Likewise, all procedures related to obtaining unemployment benefits can be carried out from the virtual headquarters and the same happens with the rest of the administrations and the services they provide, which makes it essential to have it.
The president of the Cabildo has reported that, only during this week, a total of 61 citizens have used this service.
