The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved this Friday the call for scholarships for official studies of the 2021/2022 academic year, which is endowed with 700,000 euros. It is aimed at helping both students who are pursuing their studies in person outside the island as well as official non-attendance and attendance studies carried out in Lanzarote.

“One more year we stand by the students and their families, supporting them and helping them to face one of the usual and most important expenses they have to make”, highlighted the president of the first island corporation, María Dolores Corujo. “This government group is aware of the economic difficulties that many families on the island are going through and that is why we want to give them a break through these aids, also favoring equal opportunities”, said the Councilor for Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Myriam Barros, who appreciates the collaboration of the University Foundation of Las Palmas.

The scholarships are intended to cover or defray the expenses derived from studying with validity in the national territory, such as the payment of public prices and academic fees, travel, accommodation, maintenance and/or expenses related to books and instrumental resources necessary for these studies.
