The Arrecife City Council states that it is promoting a Strategic Citizen Participation Plan. The Department of Youth, Citizen Participation and Infractions, under the direction of Councilor Elisabeth Merino Betancort, has positively assessed that "for the first time" since the capital's consistory a project of these characteristics is being processed and subsidized by another administration.
In this regard, the Arrecife City Council has received a notification from the Cabildo these days, where it is reported that the subsidy requested for the "promotion of participatory spaces" project has been approved and granted for an amount of 30,764.49 euros.
Since the entry of the new government group, the Councilor for Youth, Participation and Infractions, Elisabeth Merino Betancort, launched this project, which advocates "for achieving greater involvement and contribution from the citizens residing in the capital".
"We set out to find funds to be able to execute it, with the collaboration of our administrations. Now we are pleased to receive the approval of the Cabildo. When it is managed, objectives are achieved," remarks the Councilor of Somos.
During the last months of last year, the councilor and her team held different meetings with groups to outline the lines of work of this new Citizen Participation Plan of the Arrecife City Council. One of the lines of the plan will be focused on promoting associations and promoting dialogue with the administration, through citizen participation.
