Faced with the accusations against the City Council made by the PP and PNL-NC of generating a conflict with Urbaser for the eviction of the nursery workers with the presence of Local Police officers, according to reports from these parties in a statement, the acting mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Ubaldo Becerra, wanted to deny the information.
According to the acting mayor of Arrecife, Ubaldo Becerra, representatives of the City Council and the company in charge of cleaning in the capital held a meeting this Friday, October 17, to assess and improve the provision of the service. "As we do periodically, we have held a meeting with representatives of the company, in which the councilors of Neighborhoods and Cleaning and Economy and Finance have also been present, with the aim of assessing and improving, if possible, the service that Urbaser provides in the capital."
According to the press release sent by the City Council, the deputy director of Urbaser, Santiago Alonso, has assured that "no one from the Corporation has ever approached our company to address a hypothetical termination of the contract."
Likewise, and as he did this Thursday in statements to La Voz, the Councilor for Cleaning, Antonio Machín, wanted to insist that "there is no intention on the part of the City Council to modify in any way the contractual relationship maintained so far with Urbaser."
