The Teguise City Council is finalizing the awarding process for the construction project of leisure and sports facilities and landscaping works in children's parks. In this new phase, the works will be carried out in Miguel Covarrubias, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and Juan De Flandes streets, in Tahíche, due to the deterioration suffered by some of these outdoor spaces mainly intended for sports use and which have multipurpose courts, complemented with children's play areas in the form of small parks.
The renovation of sports and children's leisure areas will consist of the installation of new pavement, shade areas, bio-healthy elements, furniture such as benches, goals, baskets, swings, seesaws, net games, oars, as well as galvanized steel doors, new fencing, bicycle parking and information signs. All of this will have almost 460,000 euros, financed by the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and municipal investment.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for Contracting, Olivia Duque, visited the town of Tahíche with the Councilor for Roads and Works, Eugenio Robayna, where they announced that "Teguise is preparing a comprehensive project for the renovation of the network of parks and spaces for sports and leisure use throughout the municipality", and recalled that "the inter-administrative cooperation of the lighting projects for the Villa football field, and the court and wrestling field of La Graciosa, which have FEDER funds corresponding to Teguise, are already drafted and sent to the Cabildo of Lanzarote".
