The Teguise City Council approved this Friday in plenary session the proposal of the Department of Economy and Finance, coordinated by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, to modify Fiscal Ordinance number 33 regulating the Real Estate Tax. This modification will affect article 6 on bonuses, to introduce two optional bonuses, specifically those provided for in sections 5 and 7 of article 75 of the Consolidated Text of the Local Finance Law.

This Royal Decree creates bonuses in local taxes, establishing the possibility that fiscal ordinances may regulate a bonus of up to 50 percent of the full tax rate in favor of real estate in which charging points for electric vehicles have been installed, conditioned to the facilities having the corresponding approval by the competent Administration.

Likewise, it is intended to introduce a bonus on the full tax rate of 50 per 100, in properties used for housing, that have installed systems for the thermal and/or electrical use of energy from the sun for self-consumption. This bonus will be applied to single-family homes, in horizontal property regime or that have a shared installation such as residential areas, understood as housing developments, residential or multi-family complexes.

Both bonuses are subject to request and will be granted upon request by the owners, with a minimum advance of one month to the last day of the voluntary collection period.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has pointed out that "Teguise is the municipality with the lowest tax pressure and that, as far as possible and with the law and the agreement of our legal technicians, we will apply the necessary modifications to alleviate said pressure on our fellow citizens without it implying a reduction for public coffers or to the detriment of the quality of services and municipal investment".
