Jonás Álvarez, president of Primero Teguise and opposition councilor in the Teguise City Council, denounced in the Ordinary Plenary Session this Wednesday that he could not enter a place dedicated to meetings of the opposition parties because they had changed the lock of the door.
"As an opposition councilor, I receive a key to the Costa Teguise office because I had met with a group from the municipality and when I arrive, the lock could not be opened. This is not anyone's house, in each house let everyone change the lock whenever they want. The logical thing is to inform those users of those dependencies, in this case, the members of the opposition because none of us had that key," said the councilor.
"The least is to have respect for the councilors and for the residents themselves, this situation had never happened before," he said. In addition, this Thursday he intervened in the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote - Onda Cero where he stated that "the mayor is no one to change a lock just like that, without a technical report that supports that change."
"The only thing I asked was that they inform before that change, but the lack of respect, education and arrogance of the mayor when she addressed us because she doubted if we had been there," he says.
Jonás Álvarez continued saying that "as of today we still cannot enter those dependencies, that lack of rigor and elegance of Olivia Duque left a shameful end to the plenary because she thinks that the city council is hers." Finally, Álvarez met with the group in a cafeteria for not being able to enter this room.
