San Bartolomé pays off all its debt and incorporates a surplus of five million euros

The council plans to use that money for works that require "more urgency" such as the Family Respite Center or the improvement of playgrounds.

The San Bartolomé City Council has incorporated five million euros of surplus and has paid off the municipality's debt. The council has announced in a press release that this incorporation will give "a boost" to the accounts and will allow "to face as soon as possible" the actions that require "more urgency" in the municipality. Among them, the Family Respite Center or the improvement of playgrounds.

According to the note sent by the council, this budget increase will allow reaching 27 million euros of investment, and completely liquidate the two million credit debt that was held with financial institutions. This payment means that San Bartolomé "becomes a municipality with zero debt", the agency said.

The mayor, Isidro Pérez, highlights “the importance of this boost that will be reflected in the municipal accounts, which will allow us to continue carrying out projects to improve the quality of life of the residents of San Bartolomé, making us a model town, with healthy accounts.”

For his part, the Councilor for Finance, Antonio Rocío, highlights the “example of municipal management of the government team.” Rocío added that “thanks to the work of the City Council we will have a budget that is no longer humble and that will allow us to be on the path of progress, with a quantitative and qualitative increase in the municipal accounts.”

Among the actions that will be applied thanks to the five million euros of surplus is the completion of the works of the Family Respite Center (440,000€) and the purchase of furniture (30,000€); the acquisition of electric vehicles (220,000€) that will be added to the municipal fleet; the rehabilitation, expansion and legalization of the San Bartolomé funeral home (440,000€); the paving of streets in Guime (120,000€); the improvement and modernization of the playgrounds (248,000€); modernization and improvement of the outdoor sports courts of the sports center (55,000) among other projects.
