The San Bartolomé City Council awarded this Tuesday morning, December 17, the prizes for the elaboration of nativities and nativity scenes in the municipality.
This traditional custom is one of the most deeply rooted in the Christmas holidays, in which residents of San Bartolomé participate in order to create special, characteristic nativity scenes with the unique Canarian style in which the landscapes, flora, fauna, materials or typical clothing are present.
The mayor of the municipality, Isidro Pérez, together with the Councilor for Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, have been in charge of delivering a Christmas basket with different products as a prize for the winning people. This gift is a symbol of gratitude for their work and dedication, contributing to the tradition of nativity scenes.
The awards have been given to Sergio Perdomo, José Manuel Elvira and Marian Gil, achieving first, second and third place respectively.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, wanted to value and ''recognize the effort and creativity of the winners in the nativity scene contest in our municipality.''
He also wanted to congratulate all the participants for their exceptional work and remember that ''the true meaning of Christmas is unity, hope and joy.''
