The San Bartolomé City Council, through the Social Services area coordinated by Councilor Carmen Medina, is launching the Educating in Family program, a training initiative aimed at families in the municipality

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, explains that “the main objective of this proposal is to offer parents, mothers and guardians practical tools to address different aspects of parenting and coexistence in the family environment, since we do not always have the opportunity to influence aspects that are also vital in everyday life and to which the necessary importance must also be given.”

In this sense, the councilor responsible for the area, Carmen Medina, emphasizes that “with this, the San Bartolomé City Council wants to work with citizens from the family environment and at an early age to promote education based on coexistence, respect and emotional management, which is essential for the socio-educational development of the population and to which public administrations must contribute.”

Thus, the program includes the realization of four workshops that will be developed during the first quarter of 2025 in different educational centers of the municipality for which no registration is necessary. Each session will also have a free play center service, designed to care for the children of the participants while they attend the sessions and make work and personal reconciliation possible.

The first workshop, entitled Managing Anxiety in Children, will take place on Wednesday, January 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the CEIP Ajei, where practical strategies will be offered to help the little ones manage anxiety in their daily lives.

The second training meeting, Education in good coexistence, will be held on Wednesday, February 5, at the IES Playa Honda, also from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., aimed at promoting respect and harmony in the family environment.

The third workshop, How to improve the emotional health of our children and prevent unwanted behaviors, will be held on Wednesday, February 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the IES San Bartolomé, where tools will be presented to strengthen the emotional health of minors and prevent possible conflicts.

The fourth and last workshop, Family Conflict Management, will be on March 19, at the CEIP Playa Honda, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. During this session, techniques will be explored to resolve family conflicts in a positive and constructive way.
