The San Bartolomé City Council has approved the acquisition of a new computer application intended for the integral management of the municipal cemetery, a measure that will allow to improve the efficiency, organization, and quality of the public service provided to the citizenry.

It is an internal use tool, aimed exclusively at operators and municipal technical staff, which will facilitate the administrative and operational management of the service, without being open for direct use by the public.

The cemetery service, of an obligatory nature for municipalities, requires adequate administrative management, the control of burials and funeral concessions, as well as a correct documentary organization. Until now, the council lacked a specific tool, which generated difficulties in the management and consultation of information.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has pointed out that “this action represents an important step in the modernization of the local administration, allowing us to offer a more agile, orderly and efficient service to the citizens in an area as sensitive as the municipal cemetery”.

Likewise, Pérez highlighted that “we continue to advance in the improvement of public services, incorporating technological tools that facilitate internal work and directly impact better service to our neighbors”.

For his part, the Councilor for New Technologies, Fernando Vadillo, explained that “the implementation of this application will allow centralizing all information in a single system, reducing errors, facilitating data consultation and optimizing the work of municipal staff.”

Vadillo added that “among the main improvements are the digital management of the inventory of graves and niches, the control of funeral concessions and their renewals, as well as the location of graves through a digital street map, which represents a significant advance in the digitalization of the service”.

The new tool will integrate with the already existing municipal management system, thus reinforcing the digital transformation of the City Council and moving towards a more modern, efficient, and citizen-oriented administration.

With this initiative, the San Bartolomé City Council "reaffirms its commitment to the continuous improvement of municipal services, adapting to current needs and guaranteeing a more effective management of an essential service for the community".
