The companies with hotel and extra-hotel offerings in Lanzarote earned in 2025 a total of 1,021 million euros compared to the 972 million they obtained the previous year, according to data provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.
Thus, 2025 has become the first year in which hotels and tourist apartments on the island exceed a billion in revenue in their history.
Specifically, hotels collected 801 million euros, while the extra-hotel offer, which does not include holiday homes, collected 220 million.
And that there were 26,000 fewer tourists than the previous year and they stayed fewer nights. Specifically, there have been 2.49 million people accommodated who made 17.8 million overnight stays (600,000 fewer than the preceding year). The average stay falls from 7.5 to 7.3.
Furthermore, the number of offered places was reduced, going from 64,791 in 2024 to 63,135 last year, which caused occupancy to increase despite having fewer travelers and overnight stays. Occupancy went from 85.2 to 85.6%.
The key was the rise of the average rate which rose by 7.2% reaching 126.4 euros per night last year, 8.5 euros more than the previous year, when the rate stood at 117.9 euros.
Regarding employment, hotels ended 2025 with a total of 10,012 workers, nine fewer than they had at the beginning of the same year. Non-hotel accommodations, in contrast, closed the year with 2,402 workers, 28 employees more than at the beginning of 2025.
