The San Bartolomé City Council has closed the 2024 fiscal year with exemplary accounts, according to the management audit prepared by the Government of the Canary Islands within the framework of the Canary Municipal Financing Fund.

The report, which is mandatory for all local corporations in the Archipelago, confirms that the council has achieved an adjusted surplus of 4.99 million euros, executing 99.7% of its investments and with 'zero' financial debt.

This was made evident in the recent extraordinary plenary session held at the City Council, where the Corporation was shown the results of this audit, which reveals the clear path of economic progress marked by the current governing team.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has valued the report as "irrefutable proof of the City Council's commitment to responsibility, transparency, and the well-being of its residents, emphasizing that the administration has governed without debt, with planning, and with results that speak for themselves, drawing a line where the objectives set at the beginning of the term are materialized into actions."

Furthermore, tax collection stood at 99.3%. These results reflect a positive trajectory of economic progress sustained over time, the fruit of joint work between the governing team and municipal officials.

In this regard, the Councilor for Finance, Antonio Rocío, has highlighted that "this recognition encourages councilors to continue working with rigor, demonstrating that it is possible to manage efficiently, prioritizing savings, useful investment, and budgetary stability where the residents are the great beneficiaries".

The document also indicates that San Bartolomé is above the average of Canary Island municipalities in income and current expenditure per inhabitant, which demonstrates balanced management oriented towards providing quality services.

The audit also highlights that the municipality has reduced its financial burden to a minimum (0.1%) and has maintained solid budgetary execution in all areas
