San Bartolomé began this Thursday with the replacement of public lighting in Playa Honda. The action, promoted by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, is framed within the agreement signed to favor actions in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
This line of action aims to "improve the quality of life of the population in their environment through the implementation of new technologies for the protection of the environment and the reduction of the carbon footprint, as well as systems that result in efficiency such as LED lighting and real energy savings", the council said in a statement.
The action follows the guidelines of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC) 2021+2030, which seeks to meet the objectives of mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and maximize the benefits of sustainability in the economy, employment, health and the environment.
The City Council of San Bartolomé values "the collaboration between the different administrations to make the municipality a more sustainable and respectful place with the environment, as it will allow a more responsible use of energy, and improve the nocturnal visual environment and the safety conditions of the Avenida de Playa Honda".
