From this Monday, January 30th, until February 17th, from 8 am to 2 pm, those interested in participating with a float in the Puerto del Carmen Carnival Parade can submit their application. The documentation can be submitted to the Citizen Service Department of the Tías Town Hall.
The Department of Festivities of the Town Hall has just published the rules for the participation of floats and decorated cars in the Grand Parade of the Carnival of Puerto del Carmen, which this year will be held on Saturday, March 4th at five in the afternoon and will take place, as always, along the Avenida de Las Playas. The rules and conditions that the floats must meet to participate in the parade can be found on the municipal website.

Among the requirements that participating floats must meet, it is important to note that they must not exceed 12 meters in length, as well as 2.5 meters in width and 3.5 meters in height. Likewise, the platforms will be equipped with a protection system to prevent "running over or crushing people".
It is mandatory to have civil liability insurance and, in addition, the elements that make up the float must comply with the Technical Building Code, in terms of fire retardant treatment. In this sense, "elements that produce fire or intense heat" are "totally prohibited".
