Project unlocked to build supply warehouses and an ice factory in Puerto Naos

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has already received the public domain concession of a plot of 387.97 square meters in Puerto Naos, in which it will build a building with capacity for 16 warehouses of 9 square meters each and a small ice factory with a maintenance chamber that will be used for the island's fishing sector. The first institution states that it has thus definitively unblocked a file initiated in May 2018.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, appreciates the "generosity" and the "sensitivity" of the Port Authority of Las Palmas with an initiative with which the institution wants to "contribute to reactivating and diversifying the island's economy, through an essential activity so closely linked to our history."

"In these moments of uncertainty, it is essential to concentrate all our efforts on supporting the labor sectors most affected by the health crisis, because many of our options for facing the future with maximum guarantees will depend on our capacity to anticipate and respond to their needs," Corujo considers.

The works for the construction of the building, which will be located in functional area 7 of Puerto Naos, in the vicinity of the tuna boat mooring area, will have a budget of 229,995.60 euros, and must begin within a maximum period of three months and be completed within five months from October 6, the date of notification of the concession granting resolution.
