The San Bartolomé City Council has reported that the adaptation work on the Playa Honda Sports Center is currently being carried out, consisting of the conversion of the area where the ball courts are currently located, which "were not frequently used", into a multi-sports court.
The work is being carried out by Galitec Desarrollos Teconológicos S.L., with an award budget of 44,220.96 euros and, according to the City Council, will be completed in two months.
This improvement of the facility aims to carry out "a revitalization of the area in question, both in social and sports fields, through the execution of a multi-sports court, finished in synthetic sports grass, equipped with indoor soccer goals, with a mini-basketball hoop and sports enclosure that allows the planned activities to be carried out in optimal conditions without interfering with the use of the rest of the facilities, says Isidro Pérez, Councilor for Sports of the San Bartolomé City Council.
The enclosure in question will be carried out using modular and prefabricated metal panels and the free use of the same.
The mayor, Alexis Tejera, highlights that this work responds to the demands of the residents. "Once the works are completed, the town of Playa Honda will have a new free-use space within the sports facility, at the service of the neighborhood," he points out. This work is financed by the Cabildo de Lanzarote charged to the Island Plan of Works in the municipality of San Bartolomé 2018.
