The Island Director of the General State Administration in Lanzarote, Pedro Viera, received the General Chief of the Civil Guard in the Canary Islands, Juan Hernández Mosquera, in his office in an institutional meeting held yesterday.
The meeting, which also included the chief colonel of the Las Palmas Command, Javier Peña de Haro, and the chief captain of the Civil Guard Company in Costa Teguise, Armando Fernández Martínez, served to address various issues related to security on the island.
During the meeting, the work carried out by the different units of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote was valued, both in the surveillance of the coast and in the fight against crime and citizen protection. Likewise, the main challenges in terms of security and joint strategies to strengthen coordination between administrations were analyzed.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed on the need to continue promoting measures that strengthen security and improve the resources available to the security forces on the island.
