The advisor of the Mixed-NC Group in the Island Council of Lanzarote, Óscar Noda, regrets "the lack of vision demonstrated again by the government of Oswaldo Betancort" by rejecting the creation of an intermediation and arbitration service that would benefit the citizens and the judicial system of the island of Lanzarote.
The "misgovernment of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, with Oswaldo Betancort leading a disoriented helm, has once again demonstrated that he only responds to personal and partisan issues and shies away from any issue that cannot be sold with a video or reels, this measure does not seem to enjoy the sympathy of the president, and it is a shame, because it would really improve and provide a service to the island of Lanzarote and its citizens. The service they have rejected without any consideration would undoubtedly help to mitigate the saturation of the courts, alleviating, at the same time, the tension suffered in citizen conflicts, companies and other operators in the legal field, even saving costs to the litigants and instilling a new way of resolving conflicts without having to go to court", says Noda.
For Noda it is "completely incomprehensible that they try to cover up their lack of interest in the problems of the people of Lanzarote by arguing that they 'believe' that they do not have competences in this regard." The government of the Cabildo "ignores the mandate of Law 1/2015 of January 2 on measures regarding the efficiency of the public justice service that enables local administrations to generate and develop mediation and arbitration spaces with professionals to avoid the saturation of judicial matters. It is very simple, I repeat, it seems that they do not want to facilitate or improve the lives of the people of Lanzarote, we deserve something better, without a doubt."
Óscar Noda considers that "the damage that Oswaldo Betancort is doing with his non-premeditated to the proposals presented is a continuous steamroller against the real problems of the people of the island. The president forgets about the real and entrenched problems in Lanzarote, water, transport or investments. To all those outrages of the misgovernment group of the Cabildo is still added his refusal to all those positive initiatives for the citizens, only because they are proposed by other parties different from their political colors. That refusal is beginning to be a serious pathological problem for Lanzarote because its rulers do not want the island to improve or that the lives of its citizens be a little easier. Undoubtedly, we are facing an exhausted government without ideas or enthusiasm to improve the island", he concludes.
