The Nueva Canarias group in the Island Council of Lanzarote has managed to move forward the working group on Early Childhood Care, one of the demands that groups and families have been requesting for some time, according to the party. For the Councilor of Nueva Canarias, Daisy Villalba, "this table will have the objective of unblocking the situation that means that Lanzarote does not currently have an Early Childhood Care service as established by the legislation in this regard".
Similarly, Villalba points out that, as stated in Law 12/2019 of April 25, "Early Childhood Care is of a public nature and co-responsibility is tripartite between the Departments of Social Rights, Education and Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, which, today and at least on the island, their actions are non-existent, causing the groups of the Third Sector such as ADISLAN to bear the weight of the service".
Therefore, this working group, which would form the Area of Social Welfare of the Island Council, the Canary Health Service and ADISLAN, "will promote lines of action and intervention so that Early Childhood Care guarantees all families and users a methodology and quality of services," they stressed.
Thus, NC is "satisfied with the dialogue and consensus" maintained with the Area of Social Welfare, and thanks all the political groups present in the Council for their "willingness to vote in favor of this proposal" that comes out this April 2, World Autism Awareness Day.
