Nueva Canarias in Arrecife states that it is "astonished" with the latest press release from Coalición Canaria, in which it denounces that the City Council did not execute a subsidy destined to carry out events and boost the streets of Arrecife in the middle of the pandemic. "From the Arrecife City Council, as in the rest of the island's municipalities, the safety of citizens always prevailed over events that could lead to a greater spread of the disease," emphasizes the party, which explains that "this is the reason why the public events for which this aid was intended were not carried out".
Specifically, Coalición Canaria denounced the return of some 40,000 euros destined to boost Arrecife, "I never had any doubts, you couldn't play with the health of the people of Arrecife", says the NC councilor in Arrecife and head of Commerce, Armando Santana, who insists that it could not be executed to comply with the Covid measures.
In addition, he recalls that "CC knows firsthand that the Covid-19 situation prevented any type of celebration on public roads, since the State of Alarm situation did not allow it". To this, he points out that levels 3 and 4 were later added, in which Lanzarote entered, with Arrecife being "among the five cities with the most infections in the state territory".
"Given that this money could only be used for revitalization plans in open commercial areas", the Councilor for Commerce explains that he contacted the Cabildo of Lanzarote itself to inform them that this item, given the adverse circumstances, could not be executed. "Today we celebrate that this subsidy could be recovered again for our city and can be invested in the years 2021 and 2022", Santana announced.
"Coalición Canaria loses its shame"
"From Nueva Canarias Arrecife we are amazed at the zeal that Coalición Canaria now enters in the capital of the island", adds the party in a statement, in which it reminds CC that "in the 10 years that this party governed, the largest investment that the Cabildo of Lanzarote made in the island's capital was the purchase of the house of Pedro San Ginés' ex-partner, where almost 6 million euros have already been thrown away, without even opening its doors".
"Likewise, our party feels vicarious shame when it hears Colación Canaria, after ruining the Cabildo of Lanzarote, distributing money everywhere without executing projects and without making the slightest self-criticism", he questions, citing as examples "the millions lost in the lawsuit of La Cueva de Los Verdes, the one million two hundred thousand euros paid in secret to San Ginés' friend, Mr. Calatayud, the 6 million from San Ginés' ex-girlfriend's house, the more than two million drowned in the aquatic museum, in which it was intended that tourists pay to see the statues of San Ginés' friends, not to mention the Cabildo of Lanzarote that lost 75% of the projects due to the incompetence of Coalición Canaria destroying everything".
"San Ginés spent 40,000 euros on a trip"
In addition, he reproaches CC that "San Ginés spent 40,000 euros on a simple trip with public money". "It is not a figure of speech, it is as true as life itself", he emphasizes, recalling the trip that the former president of the Cabildo made "to take a picture of himself practicing skydiving in South Africa, or showing the male of the improving goat in Cape Verde".

"To make matters worse, the gentlemen of Coalición invented those trips and then charged allowances for going to see the world and for the world to know them", denounces Armando Santana.
"So that the list of shame is not eternal and bores the citizens, these are a few examples of the destruction of the public coffers of this party, we simply want to ask that Coalición make self-criticism and be responsible when making opposition, when certain measures are taken to avoid the spread of a virus, there must be a little responsibility and not confront citizens with the unpleasant measures that have had to be implemented in favor of health, and even less after spending more than a decade ruining the island from the Cabildo, which we estimate at around 300 million euros of money from everyone, with that you could boost not only Arrecife, but also the entire island of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, but of course, you had to travel", questions NC.
