The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Energy Area, has announced the final granting of subsidies for self-consumption renewable energy installations corresponding to the year 2024. In total, 283 grants have been approved, with a total amount of 808,270 euros, aimed at promoting the use of photovoltaic and wind energy in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, states that "these grants consolidate the Corporation's commitment to a more sustainable energy model that respects our environment, thus reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and betting on self-consumption through clean sources."
For the island's Minister of Energy, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, "this initiative is key to meeting the island's sustainability objectives. We have practically doubled the budget allocated to subsidizing photovoltaic energy installations," details Jiménez, who highlights that "these grants not only represent financial support for families and businesses, but also an investment in the sustainable future of our island."
"It is crucial that we continue to encourage the use of solar panels and other clean technologies to take care of our environment and guarantee the well-being of future generations," says the minister.
List of beneficiaries
The definitive list of beneficiaries of these subsidies, as well as the rejected and withdrawn applications, can be consulted on the Notice Board of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and on the website of the Chamber of Commerce, a collaborating entity of the Corporation in the processing of these grants.
Applicants, who will receive up to a maximum of 3,000 euros per project, have a period of four months to carry out the installation and one more month to justify it.
