The Tías City Council, governed by PSOE, Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos and Lanzarote Avanza (Lava), has announced that it continues working to improve the municipality's infrastructure with the start of the repair work on the Avenida de las Playas in Puerto del Carmen.
The contract for the repair work in this area of the avenue, in the section of Calle Marte and the Carretera de las Playas, was signed on July 30 with a budget of 1,646,437.35 euros (6.5% of the IGIC included). The execution period of the works is six months.

José Juan Cruz, Mame Fernández and Nicolás Saavedra highlight "the relevance of the works on the avenue, a space very frequented by walkers and athletes of the municipality and by the visitors themselves who enjoy the excellent coast of Tías".
A "safer, more comfortable and accessible" road
What is obtained with this action is a pedestrian road "safer, more comfortable and accessible for all users". According to the project, "this is a regeneration of the existing pavement, expanding the pedestrian platform without losing the idiosyncrasy of this section of pedestrian avenue." In addition, urban furniture and its arrangement are included to improve accessibility.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Works, Mame Fernández, and the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Christopher Notario, visited the area this Thursday together with technicians from the City Council and the Island Council to supervise the work being carried out.
