The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, representing the two institutions committed to the execution of the modernization works of the La Degollada picnic area, supervised this Thursday the status of the planned actions, which are now focused on the completion of the perimeter enclosure with stone walls, the construction of bathrooms and the improvement of access to the barbecue areas.
The municipal project, with a budget of 400,000 euros, is being carried out with funds from the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and also includes the renovation of the playground, thus achieving the integral improvement of facilities that were already highly valued by users.
Prior to this intervention, the City Council had carried out the construction and provision of the five barbecue areas sheltered by stone walls, installation of pergolas for shade, accessibility works, planting of trees and installation of six lighting points using solar energy.
