The Teguise City Council has announced that the awarding of the sidewalk repair and accessibility intervention work in different parts of Costa Teguise for an amount of 440,175 euros is "about to be formalized."

The company in charge of materializing this municipal project, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), will be Hormiconsa, which will have an execution period of 5 months for the renovation of the paving of the different public roads located in commercial areas and also of the streets that host the main educational and health infrastructures of Costa Teguise. The action also contemplates the improvement of accessibility in pedestrian crossings and playgrounds in Piteras, Helechos, Timple streets and surroundings.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, has stressed that “there are several projects of different sizes to improve the town of Costa Teguise in terms of roads, works, security, accessibility and lighting.” “Some will coexist over time and others will be interspersed as administrative procedures are resolved, but the premise is to advance in the urban development of a population that continues to grow and increase the efficiency and sustainability of its services,” added Betancort.

In this sense, from the Technical Office of the Teguise City Council, coordinated by Olivia Duque, in collaboration with Vías y Obras, with Eugenio Robayna at the head, two projects have been prepared in the tourist-residential town, which have almost one million euros from the FDCAN funds, among which is the resurfacing of Las Palmeras Avenue and the modernization of vertical signage, among other actions "necessary and demanded by citizens, such as the installation of 50 new fiber booms with solar lights or the adaptation of elements that allow people with disabilities to move freely and safely."
