The Minister of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, Blas Trujillo, announced during his appearance in the Health Commission that the construction works of the new Local Clinic of Yaiza have finished this Friday and the official reception of the work is scheduled for next Thursday, the 26th.
Trujillo responded to an oral question about the forecast for the completion of this new Primary Care infrastructure, whose works were awarded in May 2019 to the company Mantenimiento Marmape, for an amount of 366,083.85 euros (without IGIC), and its construction process has been affected by the suspension of work activities during the pandemic.
With the reception of the building next Thursday, the process of equipping and starting up the Clinic, which will serve a population of 2,479 health cards, can begin.
According to the Ministry, the opening of the new center will allow the incorporation of the services of midwife, case management nurse and Social Work, which are currently provided at the Local Clinic of Playa Blanca.
Currently, the reference population of the Local Clinic of Yaiza is provisionally attended in the local term of Uga, by two Family Care Units, made up of 2 family doctors and 2 nurses, and a Pre-triage service, integrated by 2 nursing assistants and 2 administrative assistants.
