The candidate of Nueva Canarias (NC) to the Mayoralty of Teguise, doctor Fernando Jiménez, has shown this Monday his satisfaction for "the good reception" that "has had among the primary sector and the citizenship in general" of the municipality and of Lanzarote his proposal to implement a supply market in Teguise, specifically, in the Plaza Camilo José Cela.

As representative of ACULANZA, the Association of Consumers and Users of Lanzarote, Jiménez has been demanding "the implementation of supply markets on the island of Lanzarote since 2008" and now "he does so so that politics makes this old demand a reality".

Jiménez's initiative was in fact welcomed by the mayor of Teguise himself, Oswaldo Betancort, in his opening speech of the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Fair of Lanzarote that was held this past weekend at the Agrotechnological Center of Teguise.

"We are glad that after 12 years the mayor has realized the need to have this resource"

"We are glad that after 12 years the mayor has realized the need to have this resource". "It would have been good some initiative in his three legislatures as mayor", he warns. In this sense, the candidate emphasizes that "the Canarians have been proposing real and executable alternatives for the definitive take-off of the primary sector in Teguise".

In addition, he insists that "we are going to support the work of farmers, ranchers and fishermen with honest policies, common sense and effective services by the Administration", he assures that "the democratization of the mountain and the creation of a permanent supply market in La Villa are among the proposals of the electoral program of Nueva Canarias in Teguise".
