The Environment area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has acquired three Euro 6 4x4 all-terrain vehicles, intended to reinforce the inspection and surveillance service on the island. This purchase, co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), responds to the need to modernize and improve the efficiency of the resources available for the protection of Lanzarote's natural environment.

At the presentation this Thursday, the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, underlined the importance of this acquisition: "These new vehicles are essential to guarantee effective surveillance work on our island, especially in those areas that are difficult to access. With this investment, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the conservation of the environment and sustainability, providing our agents with the necessary means to carry out their work in the best possible conditions."

For his part, the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, assured that they will continue “managing all available financial aid to improve the infrastructures and resources destined for the protection of the environment, ensuring that the equipment and tools available are up to the challenges presented by the preservation of the island's natural environment.”

“Renewing the area's vehicle fleet was an urgent priority, as the age of the vehicles in use seriously compromised the ability of our agents to perform their work efficiently,” said Samuel Martín. He also highlighted that, after this update that allows improving operating conditions, the team of Environmental Agents will continue to be reinforced, guaranteeing greater coverage and efficiency in the tasks of surveillance and protection of the environment,” concluded the councilor.
