With the aim of improving the route of the cyclists participating in the Ironman Lanzarote and guaranteeing their safety, the Public Works Area of the Cabildo has executed the provisional detour works on the LZ-40 road in Puerto del Carmen with the Camino Hoya Limpia, "thus allowing a more comfortable and safe development of this sporting event that will be held next Saturday, July 3".

The councilors of Public Works and Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina and Francisco Javier Aparicio, respectively, who moved to the site of the works, agree in pointing out that "thanks to this action, highly demanded for years, we not only guarantee the safety of the Ironman cyclists in their access to Puerto del Carmen from the roundabout known as El Toro, but we also manage to avoid traffic restrictions during the celebration of the event."

The works, which have already been completed, have consisted of the construction of an asphalt platform to offer a safe detour between the LZ-40 road and the Camino Hoya Limpia, thus minimizing the inconveniences suffered by drivers. However, once the Ironman is finished, a security barrier will be placed to close the detour made to ensure compliance with current regulations.
