Ciudadanos (Cs) has demanded this Monday "a conditioning plan for the streets and sidewalks of the center of Puerto del Carmen, since it affirms that "they are in very poor condition".

In this regard, the coordinator of the local group of Cs in Tías, Candela Sánchez, explained that "the roads are full of potholes and poorly made patches, a fact that"implies constant discomfort and insecurity for drivers and pedestrians" and has indicated that "it is urgent that a good resurfacing plan be launched".

Likewise, Sánchez has referred to the "lamentable state in which the sidewalks are", because "many of them have raised and broken tiles and, even, "some are totally impassable and inaccessible for people with reduced mobility". "These are the busiest streets and sidewalks in the tourist center of Puerto del Carmen", so "a bad image is being offered to all residents and visitors of the town", he lamented.

Reproach to the municipal government

In this sense, the coordinator of the local group of Cs in Tías has reproached the municipal government (CC and PP) for "not carrying out arrangements of basic elements for the development of the town, such as the paving of streets, reforms of the sidewalks or the improvement of public lighting".

For all this, and because "Puerto del Carmen cannot compete with other tourist destinations with these notable deficiencies", from Ciudadanos they have asked the Tías City Council to "urgently launch an action plan to rehabilitate the streets and sidewalks of the tourist lung of the municipality".
