The Popular Party constituted this Saturday the Management Board of New Generations of Lanzarote, a youth political body that will be chaired by Cristina Marrero Morín, and that had the support of the regional President of the PP, José Manuel Soria, the island head, Loly Luzardo, the National Training Secretary of NNGG, Alexis Robles and the President of NNGG of the Canary Islands, Jaime Hernández-Abad, among others.

The new President of NNGG, Cristina Marrero, pointed out that her main objective is for young people to be truly protagonists of the political and social life of Lanzarote, and denounced the abandonment felt by the youth group by the two political formations that have led the island institutions since 1995.

"There is no doubt that the Socialist Party and the PIL do not know how to articulate youth policies, and that little can be learned from this political class that does not adapt to the needs and demands of a young person of the 21st century"; Marrero pointed out.

In this sense, she explained that young people demand to be able to train and channel their professional vocations, fulfill their job expectations, have facilities to acquire a home and be able to become independent, in addition to a greater and better cultural and leisure offer.

Far from including young people in their policies, the parties that have traditionally governed in Lanzarote "have limited themselves to making promises and asking for the vote of young people to change and resolve the deficits that they themselves have created", said Cristina Marrero.

NNGG also showed its willingness to work to bring the Popular Party's project to all the young people of the island and make it possible for Mariano Rajoy to be the next President of the Government of Spain.

WITH RAJOY IT IS POSSIBLE

The President of the PP in the Canary Islands, José M. Soria, who praised the commitment of young people to the party, did not want to overlook the short distance that, at this time and according to the polls, separates the Popular Party from the PSOE, and that reflects the discontent of citizens and the failure of the policies carried out by the Zapatero government.

He pointed out that "never before in the recent history of democracy in Spain, has the fact occurred that, after the first four years of a government's term, we were in a technical tie between the ruling party and the main opposition party".

Soria expressed his concern about the economic situation of our country and lamented the irresponsibility of the state government in this matter. In addition, he said he did not understand how Zapatero places Spain in the "Champions League", if we compare the current data on unemployment, prices, taxes, mortgages with those of 2004, and the difficulties that families have to make ends meet.

The President of the PP pointed out that these are elections where two models of society will be confronted, and that it is the opportunity to change not only the government, but the course of our country.
