The insular secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, has revealed that the subsidy of ten million euros from the Government of the Canary Islands to buy the two new desalination plants that Oswaldo Betancort promised "are not in the budgets."

"As usual, Oswaldo Betancort launched one of his ideas into the air, without having agreed with the Government of the Canary Islands on that subsidy," Corujo explained.

"The only thing Betancort has achieved is the inclusion of a cumbersome additional provision in which it is explained that if credit could be generated throughout the fiscal year, an item would be allocated, up to a maximum of fifteen million, to finance the necessary investments to address water emergencies on the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote," explained the former president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.

"This additional provision is limited to pointing out the obvious, that the Government of the Canary Islands can carry out budget modifications depending on how revenues and expenses have evolved," Corujo narrated, pointing out that, in addition, Lanzarote has not declared a water emergency: "Another of Oswaldo Betancort's ideas that, in this case, has confused the Government of the Canary Islands itself."
