Corujo demands that Oswaldo Betancort stop using "mafia methods" to try to alter the electoral result

"Those who have to give explanations are CC, who have not clarified what San Ginés is doing" on the lists of Arrecife and the Parliament while they are investigating him for "serious crimes of corruption"

The general secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote and candidate for re-election to the presidency of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, has summoned the media this Wednesday to denounce the accusations made by the media group of the businessman Juan Francisco Rosa. "What Lancelot does is intoxicate and feed the lies”, she has assured.

At the same time, she has denounced "the dirty and despicable campaign launched by Coalición Canaria with the aim of clouding the electoral campaign. Those who have to give explanations are Coalición Canaria, who have still not clarified what Pedro San Ginés is doing as number two in Arrecife and in the Parliament when they had to remove him from the list of the Cabildo for the serious crimes of corruption that are being investigated".

"I demand Oswaldo Betancort (candidate of Coalición Canaria to the Cabildo of Lanzarote) to put an end to this infamy and I warn him that whoever dirties the campaign with methods that could be described as mafioso trying to alter the electoral result does not deserve to direct the destinies of this land", Corujo asserted during her speech.

According to the socialist candidate, Oswaldo tries to present himself to the citizens as "a man of consensus, a true statesman concerned about the problems of Lanzarote" entrusting Pedro San Ginés and the media of the Lancelot group with "a perfectly crafted strategy to try to undermine the image of the PSOE and its assessment as a candidate".

Coalición Canaria and Pedro San Ginés

"Those who have to give explanations are Coalición Canaria, who have still not clarified what Pedro San Ginés is doing as number two in Arrecife and in the Parliament when they had to remove him from the list of the Cabildo for the serious crimes of corruption that are being investigated".

Corujo has explained that Pedro San Ginés was removed from the list of the Cabildo by his own organization due to the "overwhelming evidence" that has been emerging during the judicial investigation of his management in INALSA and the Water Consortium and has explained that "they placed him on the lists of Arrecife and the Parliament because they still need him for his lack of scruples, his ease of lying and his willingness to use political violence".

She has also pointed out that Coalición Canaria "has still not demanded that Pedro San Ginés clarify why he paid almost 100,000 euros in black money for his home (does anyone believe that 100,000 euros are paid in cash and there is not even a receipt for the payment, nor is the expense declared to the Treasury?)".

Coalición Canaria "has still not rejected that San Ginés' lawyer-friend took possession of the coasts owned by INALSA and the Consortium with the knowledge and consent of Pedro San Ginés, pocketing more than one and a half million euros of public money".

Regarding Lancelot digital and Lancelot televisión, Corujo has recalled that it is Juan Francisco Rosa who controls that communication group and has explained that "while Pedro San Ginés was president, the Cabildo did not act in the judicial procedures that affect the Princesa Yaiza and Son Bou hotels, owned by Juan Francisco Rosa".

At the same time, she has pointed out that "Juan Francisco Rosa urgently needs to have a docile and submissive president at the head of the Cabildo again and Oswaldo Betancort has already proven to be the chosen one, he has demonstrated it with his complicity with urban corruption, refusing to demolish the skeletons of Costa Teguise, that is why he puts Lancelot and all his media at the service of Oswaldo Betancort".

Corujo has stated that the group of media owned by Juan Francisco Rosa and Pedro San Ginés, the one investigated for serious crimes of corruption and accused of false accusation, are the two legs of Oswaldo Betancort's strategy to dirty the campaign and recounted the sequence that proves it.

The milestones of the dirty campaign

The socialist candidate has assured that, so far, the dirty campaign launched by Oswaldo Betancort has had "two first chapters and the first of them was the infamy disguised as news that they published last Friday. "In a headline that directly contradicts all the rules of writing and ethics of journalism, enclosed between question marks, Lancelot asks if I have hidden reports, if I have falsified contracts or if I have made files disappear. This headline, which, although it is hard for me to say, can only be described as repugnant, serves as an introduction to a news item in which the initial question mark disappears and is transformed into slanderous statements".

Corujo continued by pointing out that the next milestone was the publication on Monday night of a press release from Coalición Canaria, trying to condition her participation in the debates of the following Monday: "A note full of lies and half-truths in which I was accused of buying a farm from the family of Benjamín Perdomo to, in the words of San Ginés, give a white-glove kickback. A note that was conveniently amplified, as they had planned, with Pedro San Ginés on Lancelot Televisión, accusing me of having deceived the members of the Assembly of the Consortium who approved the purchase of the farm from the family of Benjamín Perdomo".

As the socialist candidate has explained, "this last lie is very significant. The representatives of Tinajo and Teguise in the Consortium, both from Coalición Canaria, voted in favor of the purchase even though they could have abstained. Their vote was not necessary. "However, they voted in favor of a proposal that, in addition to being legal, was enormously beneficial for the public interest, as was proven with the corresponding technical and legal reports, but that is hidden by the spokesman of Oswaldo Betancort's dirty campaign, Pedro San Ginés".

Corujo has explained that the publication of a "false news" by Lancelot on Friday and the issuance of a "lying note" on Monday, with an interview on Lancelot TV the following day, "is not a coincidence", but responds to a "deliberate strategy to dirty the electoral campaign since everything they have published now as a novelty was known more than six months ago. They knew that there is nothing illegal, but they have taken it out now, in the campaign, thinking that this way there is no time to reveal their lies".

Corujo warns of a new hoax

The general secretary has warned that in the coming days a "new hoax" will come out according to which they would have withdrawn her license for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Corujo distributed a screenshot captured on social networks published by "some of the characters who hang around in that environment of moral misery that surrounds Oswaldo Betancort and Pedro San Ginés" in which the following could be read: "I am told that this Thursday the evidence of the withdrawal of the license of "the peninsular" comes out due to the alcohol control, it is an unpleasant matter, it is what so many gin and tonics have".

After revealing that new "repugnant maneuver" of Oswaldo Betancort and his team, the candidate has exhibited a certificate, issued yesterday by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Las Palmas, "which demonstrates that it is absolutely false that my license has been withdrawn, nor that I have committed any infraction of any kind, much less for the falsehood that they are spreading".

Corujo has explained that the time of issuance of that certificate is prior to the publication on social networks mentioned above, since "she had been warned from within Coalición Canaria itself because, as I was saying, many of the people in that party do not share the vileness of the dirty campaign launched by Oswaldo Betancort".

The candidate names the members of the plot

Corujo has asserted that it is Juan Francisco Rosa who controls the Lancelot media group and that "while Pedro San Ginés was president, the Cabildo did not act in the judicial procedures that affect his hotels.

The candidate has accused Oswaldo Betancort and Pedro San Ginés of being "two sides of the same coin: while one paralyzed the judicial actions of the Cabildo, the other entrenched himself in Teguise avoiding compliance with the sentences" and recalled that both have more things in common, the link with Felipe Fernández Camero who, in addition to being the lawyer of Juan Francisco Rosa, "appears in all those procedures, defending those who failed to comply with the law, including the procedures of Teguise".

"Coincidentally, since Pedro San Ginés acceded to the presidency of the Cabildo, Camero became his landlord, his generous landlord, to the point, supposedly, of having sold him his chalet with unparalleled conditions in the real estate market", Corujo recalled, pointing out that "we know all the legs of the plot: the political, the business, the legal and the media, I think now the interests that are at stake are much better understood".

The position of the PSOE

Corujo concluded "making it very clear what the position of the Socialist Party will be from this moment on, beyond her personal decision to resort to criminal proceedings against Lancelot for his slanders".

"The Socialist Party is not going to waste a minute debating with an accused of corruption who will soon be sitting in the dock for a false accusation", she added. "The PSOE is not going to fall into the game of Oswaldo Betancort who acts like a statesman while using a character like Pedro San Ginés to do the dirty work for him".

"They intend to do with Loli Corujo, with Benjamín Perdomo and his family the same thing they did with Antonio González and Carlos Espino, subjecting them to judicial and media harassment that lasted ten years, turning San Ginés' false accusations into front-page news", the political formation concluded.

"The PSOE is not going to allow it. Oswaldo Betancort's lack of scruples will take its toll and this indecent strategy will have consequences.
