Construction begins on the extension and improvement of the Capellanía del Yágabo school canteen in Arrecife

The works have an investment of 75,150 euros and will allow for improved facilities for the next school year

The mayoress of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, and the councillor for Education, Saro González, have visited the facilities of the school canteen of the Capellanía del Yágabo school of infant and primary education, where the extension works have already begun, which will allow not only the increase of its capacity, but also its modernisation.

The works were put out to tender on the Public Sector Procurement Platform from the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and are financed by the Regional Development Fund (Feder) within the framework of the sustainable urban development strategy Conurban Azul of the sustainable growth operational programme 2014/2020. The investment, including taxes, amounts to 75,150.68 euros.

According to the mayoress of Arrecife, "this extension of the Capellanía school canteen was a priority and will allow us to have improved facilities for the next school year 2021/2022".

The Area of Public Works and Project Planning of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, under the direction of the vice-president and councillor Jacobo Medina, will supervise the entire execution of this new work aimed at improving the services to the most vulnerable families who use the school canteen, by expanding its current capacity.
