Conditioning and beautification works of Playa Chica have finished

Benches have been placed on the promenade, a shaded area and improved shower areas, in addition to the surrounding gardens.

Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen has undergone a facelift by the Tías City Council with the execution of conditioning and beautification works. This emblematic area of the tourist town now boasts renovated gardens, new benches, a shaded area and an improved shower area.

The Tías City Council, governed by PSOE, Lanzarote Avanza and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, continues with the maintenance work on the coastal promenade and accesses to the beaches of Puerto del Carmen. Thus, this week the beautification tasks of Playa Chica have been completed.

“In the previous months we cleaned up the squares and common areas of the towns, and in summer we have focused on the tourist area. In Playa Chica, a space very frequented by locals and visitors, this intervention was necessary, explains the acting mayor and councilor of Roads and Works, Mame Fernández.

The works recently executed consisted of the elimination of obstacles, old lampposts and unused vertical signs, placement of benches near the accesses and on the Paseo Barrilla, installation of a shade area for people with reduced mobility and relocation of the information display.

In addition, the footbath that was located in front of the public toilets was removed and the shower area on the beach was improved. As for the garden area, the fertile soil was replaced and the plants and red gravel were renewed, which was embellished with pots and decorative elements.
