The President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, and his first Vice President, Fabián Martín, as well as the island president of CC and Mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, and the Mayor of Teguise, Juan Pedro Hernández, were some of the members of Coalición Canaria and the Party of Independents of Lanzarote who celebrated the Day of the Flag. All of them participated in the flag-raising ceremony in the Mozaga roundabout, Teguise, of the tricolor flag with seven green stars in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the presentation of this flag, linked in its origins, to the independence movement. The event took place early in the morning of Thursday, October 22, and was the first of many events planned for this week in which the anniversary is commemorated.

One of the organizers of the event, Juan Antonio de la Hoz, wanted to emphasize that it was an act completely outside of political parties and to which all nationalist formations and groups had been invited, as well as individuals. "Here the important thing is the Canarian national flag, the patriotic sentiment and the love for the Canary Islands above political parties," said De la Hoz, who hoped that these celebrations would be supported by "all the people."

On Thursday 22nd itself, a "Canarian national Tagoror" is held in the Sociedad Torrelavega of Arrecife, at 8.30 pm, to address the challenges of the Canary Islands in the 21st century and on Friday 23rd, at the same time and in the same place, a literary and musical meeting will take place. From 10:00 am on Saturday 24th, a concentration is called in Puerto Naos, followed by a caravan of cars that will run towards the picnic area of Tinajo so that at 13:00 hours a gastronomic and folkloric meeting is held.
