The spokesperson for Coalición Canaria-San Borondón (CC-SB) in the Tías Town Hall, Amado Vizcaíno, has started a collection of signatures through the platform www.change.org "to prevent the Three Kings Parade of La Tiñosa from disappearing."

And, according to the councillor, "after more than twenty years faithful to their appointment, Their Majesties from the East will not travel on January 5 the distance that separates Teide Street and Varadero, nor will they go to the area of Avenida de las Playas, due to the decision taken by the socialist government group".

"Last Thursday, November 21, the program of events planned by the southern Consistory for the upcoming Christmas holidays was announced and, among other activities, we were surprised to find that this year, the residents of Puerto del Carmen and the tourists who visit our municipality on these dates, will be left without enjoying one of the main events of Christmas", Vizcaíno lamented.

Event scheduled in the Varadero square

Instead, the CC councillor states that the Tías Town Hall will have Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar arrive by boat at the La Tiñosa dock and go to the Varadero square to collect the letters from the children, but they will do so at noon, at a time that, according to he emphasizes, "does not meet the wishes of many children who eagerly await to see their Three Kings with their camels just before going to bed".

Thus, and "with the aim of putting pressure until the mayor of Tías listens to the request", Amado Vizcaíno has not only launched a digital collection of signatures but also states that, with the collaboration of several residents, he will go to different points in the town, such as the La Tiñosa Sociocultural Center and the municipal library, to leave the forms so that citizens can sign freely.

"We are also going to go to different businesses in the area that will be affected that night by not expecting, as in other years, the concentration of people eager to see the Three Wise Men from the East", concludes the councillor.
