Coalición Canaria of Tinajo has lamented "the manipulation campaign that the opposition parties in the City Council, PSOE and Movimiento Renovador deTinajo, have launched in recent days", and has accused both formations of "lying" about the garbage collection contest, which had to be suspended. "What they have is an absolute ignorance of the day-to-day in an institution and its regulatory procedures", says CC.

“I am not going to allow citizens to be confused”, says the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, who regrets that "there are public representatives who, instead of working for the municipality, dedicate themselves to trying to manipulate citizens."

Among other issues, CC criticizes that PSOE and MRT "have dedicated themselves to saying that the Administrative Court of Public Contracts of the Canary Islands has confirmed that the mayor, Jesús Machín, violated the Law by calling the contest without taking it to plenary first", when it assures that it is "something totally untrue."

"The aforementioned Court, in its resolution 238/2020 of October 30, 2020, has only responded to the appeal of a private company and the resolution does not assess the issue", the nationalists point out in a statement, in which, however, they ignore that the contest has had to be suspended and that the mayor himself acknowledged that there were "errors" in the specifications. Errors that Machín did not explain on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero and to which CC does not mention in this statement either.

"It is impossible to provide more transparency to the matter"

From CC they also criticize that both PSOE and MRT have accused the mayor of hiding documentation, accusing him of having "much to hide". "These accusations are unsustainable and demonstrate once again the malice of the Tinajo opposition because, legally, it is impossible to provide more transparency to the matter", assures the secretary of the Local Committee of CC, Luis Pérez Berriel. And it is that while the opposition has been denouncing for months that they have not been given access to the file, the nationalist affirms that they did have "access" to it. "It is curious that they waited to start the plenary session to say that they had not been able to enter the web", he affirms.

"I must say that file 1021/2020 is an open procedure, the most transparent that we can observe in the Public Procurement Law”, Jesús Machín emphasizes. “Secrecy was what Antonio Morales did when he stopped being a councilor to become a councilor in the Cabildo and suddenly forgot about Tinajo”, he adds.

For the nationalists, "it is also curious that another opposition councilor is registered as interested in the procedure and has access to everything, while Begoña Hernández (PSOE) or Antonio Morales (MRT) are unable, according to what they said, to access the specifications of administrative clauses that are published on the municipal bidding platform and on the State contracting platform."

“I have invited them to come to the City Council in case they have technical problems in their access to all this information, but more than a week has passed since the last plenary session and they have not even tried to solve their access to this data with the secretary”, says Machín.

Likewise, in the face of accusations of secrecy by both opposition spokespersons, the mayor affirms that, during the plenary session, the City Council's lawyer read the file for more than an hour. “But, even so, they prefer to parade their ignorance through the media”, he concludes.
