The secretary of the Local Committee of the Canarian Coalition in Haría, Víctor Robayna, urges the government group of the northern Consistory to "resume the file initiated" by the nationalists to recover the Training Programs in Alternation with Employment (PFAE); an alternative to give "response to the youth of the municipality who lack specific training in a profession, and that would facilitate their access to work through learning and professional experience in an occupation." It is, in short, "a tool that the Canarian Employment Service, through European funds, makes available to institutions," he adds.
"Lanzarote and specifically Haría have a significant lack of employment policies, especially those aimed at the youth population," says Robayna, who recalls that during the CC stage in the government of Haría, the "necessary works to approve the classrooms" were developed, a requirement of the Ministry of Employment and Education to access the PFAE.
The councilor in the northern Consistory also informs that this Monday, July 31, the "Call for Subsidies for financing" was published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands; a subsidy that, he says, "can be lost if action is not taken quickly and the appropriate procedures are not established."
"This would involve the implementation in the municipality of gardening, masonry or assistance to the elderly workshops that are in high demand and offer important professional opportunities for this sector that has difficulty entering the labor market," insists the councilor.
"The Employment Training Programs are the best option to renew and give opportunities to young people in the labor market"
"We are aware that the City Councils do not have powers in employment, so small opportunities such as the PFAE must be taken into account, as they are the best option to renew and give opportunities to young people in the labor market," he says.
