CC has accused the mayor of Tías of opening the public restrooms of Tías "without correcting deficiencies or complying with the relevant health measures."

In a statement, the nationalists point out that a month has passed since their spokesperson in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, withdrew a motion in which he requested the immediate reopening, with all the necessary security and health measures, of the public restrooms of the municipality, as well as the commissioning of the showers on the beaches of the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen, given the government group's claim that both services were already open to the public. However, they state that while it is true that they were opened, the reality is that "it was done in a hurry and without correcting the deficiencies."

"We have found broken sockets, toilet bowls without lids, broken doors, broken skylights, lamps that have been modified and left holes in the ceiling... I don't understand such incompetence; after a year of being closed, they haven't been able to open them in perfect condition," laments Vizcaíno.

In addition, the CC spokesperson states that "not all the public restrooms in the municipality have been opened as said, but, for example, the one in Playa Chica remains closed," and assures that "users often go to the stone area to relieve themselves, leaving it in undesirable conditions." Faced with his criticisms, Amado Vizcaíno points out that the response of the Tías government has been to place chemical toilets "right in front of the door of the restrooms that were supposed to be open already."

The CC spokesperson in the Tías City Council regrets the "disinterest" shown by the government group led by the socialist José Juan Cruz, "both in providing coverage for the needs of the municipality's residents and in taking care of the image of the island's main tourist area."

"Every day I am more clear that Tías needs a change of political course because the current group is incapable of managing such basic things as the opening of public services that meet the minimum health conditions," says the councilor. "From Coalición Canaria we try, even if the government doesn't let us, to make a constructive opposition; that's why we propose real proposals to the plenary. But, given what has been seen, it is clear that there are times when we must make so much incompetence public, to see if with a little luck they are ashamed and look for solutions," concludes Amado Vizcaíno.
